The budget, line by line
Here is what the journey costs, item by item: what is already paid for, what has been donated and what is still to find. The amounts are estimates, updated as the preparation goes on.
Every bit of support brings the top figure down
A donation pays for what cannot be lent: visas, fuel, insurance. A lent vehicle takes ≈ €10,000 off the budget. An item from the list, given or lent, turns its line green.
Every donation entitles you to a French tax receipt. If you pay tax in France, it cuts your tax by 66 % of the gift (60 % for a company). Why the association can issue it
Notes on the amounts
The price of anything not yet bought is a rounded estimate, marked ≈. For the most uncertain items, such as the vehicle or fuel, I give a range. The total will change until departure.
For what is still to buy, no brand has been chosen: each line describes a need. My personal expenses (health, bedding, clothing) are grouped into one line per part, and my personal resources into one "Personal contribution" line.
The budget covers departure, the four months on the road and the return. Post-production of the documentary will have its own budget. The line descriptions were written in French and translated.
